This class is designed to get you feeling confident and comfortable being on stage, expressing yourself, and collaborating with other actors. It has the essential tools you need to start working on text, responding creatively to impulse, and sharing the action with the audience. The class culminates in a public showcase.

ACTING 201:

The students will expand on their script analysis toolbox and their knowledge of staging. These skills will be applied to the exploration of scene work, through text, body, and voice.

ACTING 202:

ALONE ON STAGE

Being alone on stage can be nerve-wracking! In this class, you will explore the power of the monologue in the context of auditions and a full production. In order to perform with clear intention and presence, the instructor will provide feedback and lead you through acting exercises as you prepare your monologue. We will cover audition etiquette through role play and performance and you will have ample opportunity to perform your monologue in front of your classmates and at the end of term, share the piece in a public showcase.

ACTING 203:

ACTING FOR FILM

This class will follow the process from sides on a page to collaborating with fellow cast and crew to deliver compelling material in film and television. The work completed in this class  is intended to make participants active operatives in their careers. From technical acting specifics unique to working with a camera, to making bold, specific choices, to developing materials and discipline to make you competitive with agencies and casting directors. Participants learn how to sculpt the career they desire by building on their greatest strengths. Acting 203 will take students through the film process step by step from audition notice to film festival red carpet.

**Please note: This class charges an equipment fee of $25. This fee is used to cover the cost of the filming equipment, the camera operator and final editing.

ACTING 301:

This advanced class challenges students to deepen their craft through rigorous scene and character work. Building on script analysis, staging, and embodied performance, actors will explore complex texts, heightened circumstances, and nuanced relationships. Emphasis is placed on specificity, consistency, and choice-making, as students refine their ability to integrate text, body, and voice into fully realized performances. The course encourages greater artistic independence, ensemble collaboration, and sustained work toward performance-ready scenes.

ACTING 302:

Continue your acting journey with an immersive class designed to help you deepen your craft through discovery, rehearsal, and performance. Working on two-person scenes, you’ll explore character, relationships, and storytelling while diving further into body and mind work to develop truthful, instinctive performances. Throughout the semester, you’ll learn from four guest instructors, each specializing in a different acting skill, theory, or method, offering new perspectives and techniques to expand your artistic toolkit. Through guided exploration and rehearsal, students will build confidence, learn to trust their impulses, and discover new possibilities in their work as actors.
