Service Description
"Improv Therapy: Change through Connection, Play and Storytelling." Improv Therapy An experiential workshop in connection, play and storytelling What happens when improvisation and therapeutic practice are brought together? Led by improviser and Counselling Therapist Anthony Goodwin, this three-part workshop uses structured improv exercises, embodied activities, storytelling, discussion, and reflection. Drawing on established practices from improvisation, community-based theatre, experiential learning, and therapy, participants will practise listening, spontaneity, empathy, perspective-taking, and working safely with vulnerability. Each activity creatively explores lived experience, followed by group reflection on how it connects to our values and patterns of thinking, feeling, behaving, and relating. Through trust, play, and shared exploration, participants can risk being seen as they are and explore their capacity for connection, change, and growth. This practical group workshop uses improv and storytelling to build community and strengthen authenticity, empathy, self-awareness, and confidence in how we relate to ourselves and others.
