Service Description
Course Description Clown and improv join to make a beautiful comedy baby. John Battye and Christine Lesiak team up to shake up your usual improv habits and discover new ways into the funny. Using core clown techniques—presence, vulnerability, physicality, and direct audience connection—you’ll adapt your improv stage presence to play the immediate truth of the moment and find those weird little treasures that get the biggest laughs. You'll play, follow your impulses, embrace failure, and stumble into discoveries you couldn’t have planned if you tried. You’ll explore breaking the fourth wall, turning the audience into a scene partner, integrating your voice and body, embodying character, and discover how to apply it all to your scene work. This class is for improvisers with clowning training who are excited to become more present, playful, and physically expressive onstage. Prerequisites: Clowning 101 and a minimum of Improv 101, or equivalents.
