Clowning 201 - F26
Available spots
Service Description
NEW CURRICULUM FOR 2026 - includes duo/trio work. So you're a clown… now what? Learn performance techniques for listening for laughs, responding in the moment, and working with a partner. Deepen your clown character, and get individual feedback about what makes you uniquely funny. You'll learn how to structure and create short pieces ("turns") and create, refine and rehearse them to perform in the final class showcase. Clowning is a physical theatre practice, so expect to participate in light to moderate physical movement. Participants are expected to supply their own costumes and props for their final performance. In the last weeks of the term leading up to the showcase, it's recommended that you plan to spend about 30-45 mins a week outside of class working on your turn material. Prerequisite: Clowning 101 or equivalent, or permission from the instructor. Also useful for anyone who has taken the previous version of Clowning 201.
