Looking for the perfect way to kick off your weekend? Fridays at Grindstone are where it's at. Every week, we transform the theatre into a high-energy dance floor, throwing themed parties that bring the vibes, the beats, and the best crowd in town.
Second Friday: Y2K Nights
Throw it back to the 2000s — low-rise jeans, bedazzled flip phones, and all. We’re spinning all the hits from the Y2K era that’ll have you singing every word and dancing like it's 2004. Bonus: we’ll have local vintage vendors on site, so you can shop the throwback look while you're at it.
Third Friday: SWEAT Sessions
House, disco, funk, and all things groovy. SWEAT is a monthly party for real music lovers who come to dance. Expect local DJs, electric energy, and sweaty, feel-good fun until 2AM.
Fourth Friday: Get Up and Boogie
It’s 70s & 80s night, baby. Dress up, get down, and relive the golden era of disco, funk, and retro pop. Whether you're rocking bell bottoms or neon spandex, just bring your best moves. And don’t miss the vintage vendors bringing those iconic retro fits to life.

THE GRINDSTONE'S RESIDENT DJ COLLECTIVE
“SWEAT” is a party that started in an Edmonton backroom in the Spring of 2014. The idea was to create a totally inclusive electronic music dance party focused on 100% positive vibes, where party people feel welcome to have some serious fun on the dance floor! It’s about getting free, getting loose, connecting with the most amazing people, and having the time of your damn life!
SWEAT is collaborative. A live VJ sets the atmosphere. 4 DJs play every night – with 1 either local or international headliner, and 3 of the SWEAT crew keep you dancing your ass off. And we never go out without our disco ball. Love that classic dance floor feel!
The beauty of Nu-Disco music is that it’s inclusive. It’s phonically fresh, while reliving great moments from the past. It’s pop friendly, but it doesn’t get lost in trends. Adjusting with the times, but holding to the roots of dance music. We love introducing Edmonton to some of the world’s best new dance music, so you might Shazam some amazing tracks for the first time, or you might get stuck singing your heart out to a remix of that 80s chorus everyone loves (WE ARE YOUNG!)
So before you get a drink in hand, take a stretch, cause one thing’s for sure; we’re gonna make you SWEAT.
