Musical Improv 202 - F25
Available spots
Service Description
Are you interested in learning how to sing improvised songs? Then this is the class for you! This course will give you the tools to confidently make up songs on the spot. Students will learn about song structures, rhythm, song styles, harmony and improvising songs as an ensemble. Musical Improv will uniquely engage students with both comedic and dramatic songs! Musical Improv 101 focuses on singing only. Instruments will not be taught in this class. Level up your understanding of genre, form, and choreography skills. Main focus is on working music into long form improv. The purpose of this class is to get you to be able to do an hour-long improvised musical. *NO CLASSES ON OCTOBER 12, 2025* How do you craft a song to introduce a character? How do you interpret the music to decide what happens next in the scene? How do you keep a story going for a whole hour? Take Musical Improv 202, which is different from 201 (we promise). The purpose of this class is to marry the short-form musical improv you’ve already done with the format of long-form improv. At the end of this class, students will perform in one of two hour-long musical improv showcases.
